There may be a universe where Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse releases in 2022, but it’s not ours.
The much-anticipated sequel to 2018’s Into the Spider-Verse previously announced an October 7, 2022 release date. However, Sony now says the feature won’t arrive until 2023. So, everyone re-mark your calendars. The new Across the Spider-Verse premiere date is June 2, 2023.
The popularity of the Miles Morales flick actually inspired Sony to greenlight not just one, but two additional films. So, Across the Spider-Verse part 1 will arrive June 2023. The followup part 2 plans to drop just under a year later in March 2024.

Additional Sony Pictures Dates Announced
In addition to the shifted premiere of Spider-Man, Sony revealed premiere dates for several other upcoming projects. Check out the current list below:
- Devotion – Limited release October 14, 2022; wide release October 28, 2022
- Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile – November 18, 2022 (previously October 7, 2022)
- Madame Web – July 7, 2023
- The Equalizer 3 – September 1, 2023
- Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part II – March 29, 2024
