Jane Austen lovers, Bridgerton fans, and all-around romantics, get ready for Persuasion on Netflix.
The streamer will adapt the classic Jane Austen novel into a new feature film, arriving this summer. The film stars Dakota Johnson, Cosmo Jarvis, Nikki Amuka-Bird, and Mia McKenna-Bruce, with Richard E. Grant and Henry Golding.
For the unfamiliar or those who need a refresher on their Austen, Persuasion tells the story of two lovers separated by circumstance in their youth, who eventually find their lives intersecting again years later.
Here’s the official synopsis of the feature from Netflix:
Living with her snobby family on the brink of bankruptcy, Anne Elliot is an unconforming woman with modern sensibilities. When Frederick Wentworth—the dashing one she let get away—crashes back into her life, Anne must choose between putting the past behind her or listening to her heart when it comes to second chances. Adapted from the Jane Austen novel.
Persuasion comes from director Carrie Cracknell and writers Alice Victoria Winslow and Ron Bass.
Netflix also revealed some first-look photos of the film today, which you can check out below.
Persuasion premieres globally on Netflix July 15.
