Sharon Stone has seen a recent renaissance. The actress is now joining DC’s Blue Beetle. According to The Wrap’s Umberto Gonzalez, Stone is playing the villain Victoria Kord in the film. The upcoming film is the first superhero movie starring a Latino character. Kord is a new character created for the film.
In addition to that, Raoul Max Trujillo will play Carapax the Indestructible Man. Xolo Maridueña is the lead character, Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle. Angel Manuel Soto is directing a script from Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer. Also joining the cast is George Lopez, Adriana Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, Damian Alcazar, Belissa Escobedo, Bruna Marquezine, and Harvey Guillen. It was theorized that Blue Beetle would go straight to HBO Max, but DC and Warner Bros are releasing the film in theaters on August 18th, 2023.
