Science and religion collide in a new Peacock drama, and Betty Gilpin will lead the battle.
The three-time Emmy Award nominee will star in the series Mrs. Davis. Specific plot details about the show are being kept under wraps. However, Peacock describes the series as “an exploration of faith versus technology — an epic battle of biblical and binary proportions.”
The series comes from Tara Hernandez (Young Sheldon, The Big Bang Theory) and Damon Lindelof (Watchmen, Lost). Gilpin previously worked with Lindelof on the feature thriller The Hunt.
In Mrs. Davis, Gilpin will play a nun who goes to battle against an all-powerful Artificial Intelligence. Emmy Award-winning director Owen Harris (Black Mirror: San Junipero) will executive produce and direct multiple episodes, including the pilot.
Gilpin is known for her work on the Netflix series GLOW, for which she received three Emmy nods. She will next appear in Starz’s Gaslit opposite Julia Roberts and Sean Penn.
Peacock has not yet revealed a release date for Mrs. Davis.
