Any The Prince of Tennis anime fans who have been wanting to see the Ryoma! Rebirth: The Prince of Tennis Movie anime film since it released on September 3, 2021? Well, good news: Anime Expo is here to help you all out with that by bringing it to NA theaters for the first time. They even have a new official trailer on YouTube for us to celebrate the occasion. Check it out below:
Ryoma Goes 3D?!
Anime Expo in partnership with Iconic Events Releasing is proud to announce their brand new theatrical event: AX Cinema Nights. To build up hype for their new event, they plan to have their first film there to be Ryoma! The Prince of Tennis <Decide>. If you have never heard of this anime film before, don’t worry. It’s not a completely new anime film you somehow missed. It’s actually one of the NA release titles of Ryoma! Rebirth: The Prince of Tennis Movie.
You can watch Ryoma! The Prince of Tennis <Decide> starting on May 12, 2022 at theaters nationwide in the US. Unfortunately, we don’t have any info on where and how you can purchase these tickets as of yet. Anime Expo only mentions that “[o]n-sale dates and theaters will be announced shortly”. I guess that’s something we’ll have to wait for later. Tune in later to see what those dates are when we get them.
Ryoma! The Prince of Tennis <Decide> ~ Details
Ryoma! Rebirth: The Prince of Tennis Movie (or Ryoma! The Prince of Tennis <Decide>) is the third The Prince of Tennis anime film to be adapted from the manga of the same name by Takeshi Konomi. It’s also the first anime film in the series to feature a fully CGI film, but unlike most other CGI films, this one seems to have pretty good CGI. If you’re worried that it might be The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh, don’t worry. Just watch the trailer above again to remind yourself of that, and then you can watch the trailer below to remind you of how bad the CGI of The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh seems to be.
Some of you might’ve noticed the name change for Ryoma! The Prince of Tennis <Decide>, and there is a reason for that. According to Anime News Network, it appears that this anime film has 2 different versions of it. Each version has different scenes that tell 2 different stories. <Decide> tells the story of Seigaku team captain Kunimitsu Tezuka and Rikkai team captain Seiichi Yukimura, while <Glory> will tell the story of Hyōtei team captain Keigo Atobe and Shitenhōji team captain Kuranosuke Shiraishi. I assume that Anime Expo will show <Glory> at some point in the future. Exactly when is a question that’s up in the air for now.
