Jodie Comer has lined up her first big post-Killing Eve role. According to Deadline, she will next star in the upcoming HBO series Big Swiss.
The show adapts Jen Beagin’s upcoming book of the same name. A24 and Adam McKay’s Hyperobject Industries will produce the show. Deadline reports HBO finally landed the project after a highly competitive bidding war.
Comer stars as Flavia, aka Big Swiss. The series follows a woman, who after starting a new life anonymously transcribing sex therapy sessions in Hudson, NY, becomes fixated with one of the patients, leading to an obsessive, explosive relationship between the two.
(Comer playing one half of an obsessive, explosive relationship? Sounds familiar…)
The show is currently in development at HBO, reportedly as a potential limited series. Both Comer and author Beagin will executive produce the series.
Comer recently appeared in feature films Free Guy opposite Ryan Reynolds and The Last Duel with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Adam Driver. She also played international assassin Villanelle in the critically acclaimed drama Killing Eve, currently airing its final season.
Beagin’s previous novels include Pretend I’m Dead and Vacuum In The Dark.
Big Swiss is currently in development at HBO, so we don’t have many details about the series yet. Check back to THS for more updates to come.
