It’s a great day to be a fan of either (or both) of the most popular “Star” sci-fi franchises. Earlier today, Disney dropped a trailer for its Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi. Now, Paramount+ just revealed the return of Captain Pike in the teaser for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
The upcoming series follows the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise. It is sure to be a big one for fans, bringing back fan favorite characters from season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery. Expect to see Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock.
“Our first visit from the stars was always the province of childrens’ stories and science fiction,” teases the voiceover in the new clip. “Until one day, it isn’t.”

Additional characters familiar to Trek fans set to appear in Strange New Worlds include Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding), Nurse Christine Chapel (Jess Bush), and Dr. M’Benga (Babs Olusanmokun). Confirmed new characters include Christina Chong’s La’an Noonien-Singh (who shares a last name and presumably a connection with an infamous series villain); Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, and Bruce Horak as Hemmer.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premieres May 5 on Paramount+.
