NBC’s Quantum Leap reboot is filling out its cast. The series added three regulars today, including Nanrisa Lee, Mason Alexander Park, and newcomer Caitlin Bassett.
The trio join previously announced lead Raymond Lee (as Dr. Ben Seong), and additional series regular Ernie Hudson (“Magic” Williams).
The upcoming sci-fi series picks up 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now, a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.
Lee plays Jenn, head of security at QL headquarters. Described as quirky but formidable, she makes it her mission to figure out how Ben could have both leapt back in time and erased all evidence of the leap in the future. Lee is best known for her recurring role on Bosch.
Park plays Ian, chief architect of Quantum Leap’s AI program. The nonbinary programmer prefers the company of computers to that of other people. Park will next be seen in Netflix’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman.
Finally, Bassett will play Addison, a project lead at Quantum Leap HQ. Described as a witty, fearless ex-military operative, she now runs the technology the team uses to communicate with the past. Quantum Leap marks Bassett’s professional acting debut.
With these three additions, Quantum Leap has officially rounded out its core cast. (However, two key guest stars for the pilot still remain a mystery.)
Production on the pilot begins this month in Vancouver.
