Kraven the Hunter from Sony has had some major news recently. Between Russell Crowe and Fred Hechinger joining the film, they’ve now found the villain. According to Deadline, The Many Saints of Newark star Allessandro Nivola is set to star opposite Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the film. His role hasn’t been revealed other than he’ll be playing the villain.
J.C. Chandor is directing the film with a script from Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk.
Kraven the Hunter is a notorious character from the Spider-Man comics. He’s known as a brutal and calculating villain when it comes to Spider-Man, but in other appearances, he’s leaned more into anti-hero territory.
Sony has been pumping up their Spider-Man universe films with movies like Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the upcoming Morbius, and a recently announced Madame Web film. They also scored big-time with the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. We’ll have to see how Kraven looks early next year.
Kraven the Hunter releases in theaters on January 13th, 2022.
