In a semi-surprising turn of events, How I Met Your Father is being renewed for a season 2 on Hulu. However, it’s not only season 2 – it’s 20 episodes!

We are only a handful of episodes into How I Met Your Father, but the series announced the renewal on their Social Media this morning. While season 1 of the series will only have 10 episodes, Season 2 will double the amount with 20!

While HIMYM is one of my favorite, although problematic, sitcoms until the atrocious series finale in season 10. So, sorry Haters and How I Met Your Mother purists, it seems the series is here to stay for a while longer.

The sequel to the series, HIMYF, is a modern gender-swapped version for 2022. HIMYF is the story of Sophie (Hilary Duff), a 20-something woman on the look for love. And also like Ted, is a mother telling her son the story of how she met his father. The series jumps back to the year 2022 where she and her close group of friends are trying to figure out who they are. As well as what they want out of life and falling in love in a digital app dating age.

However, unlike HIMYM, the new series made 1 major change during the pilot episode that I didn’t see coming. We have already met the father. However, the reveal will be at a later time because as older Sophie (Kim Catrall) says, “this story is not about the journey, but the destination.”
