In a stunning announcement earlier this morning, All Elite Wrestling made it known that Cody and Brandi Rhodes have left the company. After being integral parts of its creation, the two are now free agents in the Wrestling and entertainment world. Here’s the announcement from CEO, President, General Manager & Head of Creative, Tony Khan about the pair leaving.
In the time of AEW’s rise in the wrestling world, it was inevitable that someone would move on from the company. Most thought it would be someone less prestigious and integral to the founding of the company than Cody Rhodes. His options are open now, he can go to any wrestling company in the world and likely be a top star. Brandi has lots of entertainment and wrestling opportunities ahead of her as well. In addition to being on-screen talent, they both have extensive work as behind-the-scenes talent.

Obviously, the first place people think he’ll go is WWE. Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio has a report that there’s chatter within WWE about a return for Rhodes. Cody and Brandi Rhodes have a family now, so they’ll have to take that into account wherever they go. For now, Cody and Brandi are free agents and are free to do what they want to do.
