Director Jordan Peele is back at it again with his latest film, NOPE. The trailer dropped plenty ahead of time before everyone dives into the pizza and wings for Super Bowl Sunday.
The casting list is stacked with Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, and many more. NOPE is written, directed, and produced by Peele once again. Ian Cooper also produces and Robert Graf serves as the executive producer.
Although plot details are vague, from the first teaser trailer we see both Kaluuya and Palmer’s characters are horse trainers on a black-owned California ranch. This next film addition for Peele comes four years after Us (released in March 2019) that had a worldwide gross of $255.2M and Get Out (released in February 2017) with $255.4M, just near close of the same gross. Get Out won Peele’s first “Best Original Screenplay”, while for Kaluuya got a “Best Actor” nomination.
More Original Films Ahead From Jordan
However, fans of Peele should not expect NOPE to be his last film. Back in 2020, Peele told IndieWire that he is doing four films for his series. Here’s what he said:
“I have four other social thrillers that I want to unveil in the next decade,” Peele said. “The best and scariest monsters in the world are human beings and what we are capable of especially when we get together. I’ve been working on these premises about these different social demons, these innately human monsters that are woven into the fabric of how we think and how we interact, and each one of my movies is going to be about a different one of these social demons.”
