From Vertical Entertainment and starring Keke Palmer comes the dramatic thriller inspired by true events, Alice.
WHAT IS ALICE?
Alice, inspired by true events, tells the story of an enslaved woman on a Georgia plantation who yearns for her freedom. After a violent clash with her brutal and disturbed owner (Jonny Lee Miller), she flees through the neighboring woods stumbling onto the unfamiliar sight of a highway. Picked up/rescued by Frank (Common), a delusional political activist where she learns it is actually 1973. Quickly, she understands the lies that have kept her in bondage and the promise of Black liberation. Alice is a modern empowerment story tracing her journey through the post-Civil Rights Era American South.

In the trailer, we see Alice escaping and being picked up by Frank. We also see her learn about who she is, where she comes from, as well as making a phone call to her “owner” promising to go back. Revenge is powerful, but will it consume her?
Alice is written and directed by newcomer Krystin Ver Linden. The film also stars Gaius Charles (Salt), Alicia Witt (Orange Is The New Black), and NaTasha Yvette Williams (FBI).
