One of the most anticipated projects coming to Disney+ is the revival of X-Men: The Animated Series. The show, titled X-Men ’97 has a release window according to consulting producers Eric and Julia Lewald. They did an interview on the Spideyjeu09 Justin Underwood Youtube channel.
In the interview, they gave some insight on the episode count and release window for the show on Disney+.
I believe they’re looking at 10 episodes for the first season that’s going to come out mid-next year. They’re starting it soon after ours ended…”Where is [Professor X?]”
The new show picks up right where the original left off. It’s the first show/movie under the Marvel Studios banner to not be part of the MCU or produced by Kevin Feige. It’s also a homecoming for many of the original voice actors from the series. They’re reprising their roles for the first time since 2000’s Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Most of the original cast is returning including Cal Dodd as James Howlett/Wolverine, George Buza as Dr. Henry “Hank” McCoy/Beast, Catherine Disher as Jean Grey, Chris Potter as Remy LeBeau/Gambit, Alison Sealy-Smith as Ororo Munroe/Storm, Adrian Hough as Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler, and Christopher Britton as Nathaniel Essex/Mister Sinister.
They’ll also introduce some new faces to the cast including Jennifer Hale, Anniwaa Buachie, Ray Chase, Matthew Waterson, JP Karliak, Holly Chou, Jeff Bennett, and AJ LoCascio. The Head Writer for X-Men ’97 is Beau DeMayo with Eric and Julia Lewald as Showrunners.
