Disney is bringing back one of its classic shows. The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is set to debut on Disney+ next month. BUT! We have the first clip of the upcoming reboot down below. Take a look!
THE PROUD FAMILY: LOUDER AND PROUDER
The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is a reboot of the original 2001 animated series. The show follows fourteen-year-old Penny Proud and her friends, Sticky and Dijonay, on their journey of growing up and dealing with junior high adventures. Along for the ride are Penny’s parents, Oscar and Trudy, her grandma Suga Mama, and Penny’s twin siblings, BeBe and CeCe. The Proud Family was a fun coming-of-age series that lasted until 2005.
Now, Disney+ is bringing the Proud Family back to continue following Penny on her quest to grow up and claim some independence. Which, as well all know, is hard to do when your dad wants you to stay young forever. As we see in the clip, Oscar doesn’t want his little girl wearing heels. In fact, he dresses her in body armor, you know to make sure the boys stay away. A lot of the fun of the show comes in the form of Oscar not letting Penny grow up, or Penny’s haste to grow up making a mess of a situation. Either way, it’s a great family show.
