It has come to our attention, through Sacred Symbol’s podcast host, Colin Moriarty, that Hogwarts Legacy is being delayed… Again. This news comes almost a year since last getting an update.
Rumor Has it…
According to Moriarty, whose news comes from behind the scenes, the game will not come out this year. Furthermore, he says that the game is in “Some sort of trouble”. As to what that trouble is, Moriarty is not elaborating more. Although, this should be taken with a grain of salt because no official statement from Warner Bros has been made.
If rumors are true, this will be now a two-year delay. Warner Bros first announced the game back in 2020 promoting a tentative 2021 release date. A year ago news came out that the release date will actually be 2022. With no further news since then, can we assume that there is trouble in the developing video game world? Is it that development is not going as smoothly or timely as Avalanche and Warner Bros thought?
Warner Bros is keeping very quiet on the game. Before the update on the date, the last time hearing about it was the trailer. That trailer is from late 2020. With such little information being let out, it makes fans suspicious and anxious, to say the least. Fans still have hope that the game will come out after Fantastic Beast: The Secrets of Dumbledore, but that is looking to be less and less likely.
Hogwarts Legacy – The Game Play
As previously stated, Hogwarts Legacy will be an open-world action RPG game. Set in the 1800s, you get to play as a witch or wizard attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You will get the chance to choose your own house (Let’s go Hufflepuffs!), and attend classes. Payers will also get to explore an open world with settings including the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade village. If that does not sound cool enough, players will learn to cast spells, brew potions, and even tame some magical beasts. Full-on as if we were actually students.
As if that is not enough to make the game appealing, there is a morality system at play. Meaning players can make their own choices of good or evil. Each decision will affect the outcome of the game. This, in my opinion, makes it cooler because not every player will have the same outcome or same gameplay. It will be all about choice.
