The fourth season of Cobra Kai hasn’t even been out for a week yet, but it already looks like everyone’s watching.
Alright, not everyone. But a whole lotta people sure did!
Season 4 dropped on Netflix December 31, and quickly claimed the #1 TV spot of the week. According to Netflix, people spent over 120 million hours watching Cobra Kai. And since Netflix measures their weekly viewing stats starting on Monday, that 120 million hours actually only accounts for the first three days of the show’s release. Looks like everyone wanted to head back to the dojo to kick off 2022!
Cobra Kai season 4 beat out The Witcher season 2 (94 million hours viewed), which held the #1 most viewed TV spot for the previous two weeks. Taking into consideration everything on Netflix, Cobra Kai was the #2 most watched title for the week of December 27 – January 2. (The star-studded feature Don’t Look Up beats the karate kids to the #1 spot, with 152 million hours viewed.)
In season 4, the Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang dojos join forces to take down Cobra Kai at the All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament… and whoever loses must hang up their gi. As Samantha and Miguel try to maintain the dojo alliance and Robby goes all in at Cobra Kai, the fate of the Valley has never been more precarious. What tricks does Kreese have up his sleeve? Can Daniel and Johnny bury their decades-long hatchet to defeat Kreese? Or will Cobra Kai become the face of karate in the valley?
