The fifth Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins graphic is coming out on July 13th, 2022. And this time, fans will get to sail the high seas with a fan-favorite character from the last campaign.
Check out the cover for Mighty Nein Origins: Fjord Stone below:
What’s amazing is this graphic novel is really going to explore Fjord’s backstory in ways we haven’t yet seen. And the writing team for this is top-notch. On the writing team are legendary animation TV writers Chris “Doc” Wyatt and Kevin Burke. Now if you’re fans of either the animated Spider-Man or Marvel’s Avengers series from a few years back, they are both responsible for writing those series. They are also two of the writers on Critical Role’s animated series as well.
On the art team are artist Selina Espiritu, colorer Diana Sousa, and letterer Ariana Maher. CR‘s own Matthew Mercer and Travis Willingham are also helping the writing team out as well. Aside from getting the cover reveal, Polygon also provided the book’s official description:
Growing up in an orphanage on the Menagerie Coast, Fjord Stone has never been comfortable with the assumptions people draw from his half-orc heritage. His sweet, sensitive nature will do him no favors in Port Damali. Luckily, a chance meeting lands Fjord with a job, a mentor, and more adventure than he could ever dream of on the path that will eventually lead him to the rest of the Mighty Nein!
Mighty Nein Origins: Fjord Stone will release July 13th, and is currently available for pre-order everywhere.
