Free Guy was a surprise hit when it was released earlier this year. The Ryan Reynolds film is now releasing on Disney+ on February 23rd, 2022. The video game-themed action-comedy stars Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Lil Rel Howery, Joe Keery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Taika Waititi. Shawn Levy directs a script from Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn.
The film was one of the first to release back in theaters in August 2021. Luckily for audiences, we got one of the most joyous and fun experiences of the year. The plot synopsis goes like this:
A bank teller (Ryan Reynolds) who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game decides to become the hero of his own story – one he rewrites himself. Now, in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way … before it’s too late.
