I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for ways to get myself into the Holiday Spirit and spread cheer. If you’re like me, then look no further than Tinseltown: Where every day is Christmas!
WHAT IS TINSELTOWN?!
From the minds of the team behind The Alice: An Immersive Cocktail Experience and The Wizards Den comes Tinseltown – a 90 minute Christmas immersion event! Located inside The Lost Property Bar (one of my favorite Hollywood spots), and as you enter you are greeted with a Holiday Cocktail, Elves, and Instagram-worthy Christmas decor. And we can’t forget the photo station with a cardboard cutout of Santa, and fun props!
While inside these decked halls, you will enjoy a list of delicious Holiday-themed cocktails, fun games with prizes, a holiday sing-a-long, and if you’re lucky – Christmas Karaoke. The Lost Property Bar is an intimate venue, so that allows for fun, easy mingling with other guests. The Elves in town from the North Pole do their best to entertain while not making the guests feel overwhelmed. I had a chance to taste a couple of the specialty cocktails offered: the Flannel Fiesta made with their sponsored Misunderstood whisky, Lincoln Anecdote, and Let’s take an Elfie. Each cocktail gives its own fall vibe, while also helping make for a fun night. It’s important to note NO FOOD is offered at the event. So, make sure to eat a little something before joining in the fun.
Room for some improvement and added Holiday Cheer
Having gone to The Alice: An Immersive Cocktail Experience I definitely had a certain expectation going into this next event that isn’t fully met. While I know we only have 90 minutes to enjoy the festivities, it’s a much more intimate venue, I do think more could be done. So, if Tinseltown returns next Holiday Season here are some free ideas.
An actual Santa to take photos with. While the cardboard cutout with props is a cute idea it feels like more of an afterthought. I’ll take the old man or a sexy shirtless one. Either way, fun photos will be had. I also wish there was a little more entertainment. While I did enjoy a couple of fun games played (one of which I won and got a prize), some form of outside entertainment would be great. A holiday burlesque dancer would be fun! Trivia to go with the emoji game, even a short Holiday Drinking game would be amazing!
Having gone to Wizards Den, I also feel the cocktails, while delicious, are a little phoned-in. It’s Christmas! Give me powdered sugar snow! A Crushed Candy Cane Rim! Fun Holiday Garnishes! Something that screams Christmas that isn’t an orange.
All this said if you’re looking for a fun night to get you into the Holiday Spirit make sure to check out Tinseltown. Tickets are required and can be purchased on their website for $22. Your ticket includes entry to the bar and a festive cocktail!
