HBO Max took advantage of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’s 20th anniversary to give us some added magic. Coming this New Year’s Eve the streaming service will be bringing back the original trio to relive the iconic franchise.

Who will be “Apparating”

It has been announced today that HBO Max would be doing a reunion special for the Wizarding World. Daniel Radcliff, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, will be reuniting for the first time in years. They will be celebrating where it all began. Joining them will be Chris Columbus, director of the first two films. As well as Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley), and many more stars who appeared throughout the franchise.

What to “Expecto”

If you saw the Friends or Fresh Prince of Bel Air specials, you know what is in store. Return to Hogwarts will give fans a first person view of the making of one of the greatest franchises. The fans will get to see interviews and cast interactions that have not been seen before. Also, getting to relive the sets we all know and love, as well as getting to relive the magic that captivated us 20 years ago today. It is the ultimate behind-the-scenes for all wizarding fans. We will also get a chance to see how some of our favorite wizards and witches have grown.

What the “Daily Prophet” says

WarneMedia’s official announcement says Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts “will honor the magic behind the making of the films and beautiful family created at Warner Bros. Studio London two decades ago”. Casey Patterson, of Casey Patterson Entertainment, who executive produces the film along with Pulse films, has this to say:

“There’s magic in the air here with this incredible cast, as they all return home to the original sets of Hogwarts, where they began 20 years ago. The excitement is palpable as they prepare to take their fans on a very special and person journey through the making of these incredible films” It is also being produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London.

This incredible Journey will premiere right as the ball drops on HBO Max. The special will also debut on TBS and Cartoon Network later on in the spring. Details have not yet come out but we can hope it comes soon.
