Well, it seems we have some more on why the next Star Wars movie we were supposed to see in theaters was delayed. It was reported that the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron was delayed for unknown reasons but was thought to be because of the workload on filmmaker Patty Jenkins’ schedule. While we still have had no official announcement about the delay, a report from the former The Hollywood Reporter editor Matthew Belloni suggests that the reason for the delay is because of creative differences between Lucasfilm and Jinkins.

Creative Differences Are To Blame For The Rogue Squadron Delay
Hollywood insider Matthew Belloni did not hide his feeling with the title of his latest piece about the issues with the Rogue Squadron delay. “It’s Time to Take ‘Star Wars’ Movies Away from Kathy Kennedy.” in this article Belloni talks about how Jenkins and Lucasfilm could not agree on the script and was frustrated with the micromanagement.
I talked to a few insiders this week that said the real culprit was the dreaded “creative differences”; specifically, Jenkins couldn’t agree on the script with Lucasfilm executives, including senior V.P. Michelle Rejwan. That’s not unusual, of course, but it’s a laughably recurring problem at Lucasfilm under president Kathleen Kennedy, say agents: Top filmmakers are dying to make a Star Wars movie—until they sign on and experience the micromanagement and plot-point-by-committee process.

Fans Had High Hopes For Rogue Squadron
Back in December Patty Jenkins revealed that the initial writing treatment for the film was nearly completed.
We’re very far into the — we’re finishing the treatment basically, which is pretty big. So it ends up being like where you’re fairly close to a well-along screenplay by the time I’m done with the treatment in my process. So yeah, we’ve been working on it for a while. It’s going great. I’m super excited about it. I’m super excited about the story.”
Jenkins also would go on and talk about how she was turning to sources such as the games and books from Star Wars:
“In the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron movie] we’re doing something original with great influence from the games and the books. There’s a lot of things being acknowledged and understood about the greatness of all of those things, but yes, it’s an original story and I’m so psyched to do it.”
