Hello everyone, your friendly neighborhood Professor Hulk here. I’m about to drop some knowledge on some exciting stuff going on in the film and TV world. Last week we shared with you details on the Wakanda spinoff series. This week, we’re talking about Cobra Kai season 5.
While season 4 of the popular Cobra Kai series has yet to be released, the production company and Netflix are already looking ahead to season 5, which was recently formally announced.
There’s plenty of reasons for fans to get excited about the series continuing, but we’ve got one in particular to talk about today.
A Familiar Face Returns To Cobra Kai In Season 5
We can exclusively share that Chozen Toguchi (played by Yuji Okumoto) will return to Cobra Kai. We can also exclusively share that he will have a prominent role in season 5. No other further plot details are known at this time.
Chozen initially appeared as the antagonist of Daniel Russo in The Karate Kid Part II. He then appeared in season 3 of Cobra Kai, this time to support Daniel and Miyagi-Do. While details of Chozen’s re-appearance are unclear, it’s most likely that he’ll remain an ally of Daniel’s.
Cobra Kai tends to bring back actors from the previous films, so there are likely some other inclusions in season 5 that we’ve yet to learn. But it’s great to see that Netflix and the writers are paying homage to the films before.
We don’t have a release date for season 5 yet, but season 4 of Cobra Kai premieres on Netflix December 31. So you may need to wait a little longer to see Chozen again, but it won’t be too long before you can get back in the dojo.
So, are you excited to see Okumoto return in future Cobra Kai episodes? Let us know in the comments below who else from The Karate Kid films you’d like to see make the jump to the series.
