So One Piece is about to reach its 1000th episode, right? Well, what better way to celebrate the occasion than to watch the One Piece: Strong World anime film in theaters?
An Exclusive Launch For A Milestone Episode
Toei Animation and Fathom Events are proud to announce that to commemorate the milestone 1000th episode of One Piece, they’ll bring One Piece: Strong World to theaters. This will actually be the first time Strong World has ever reached the US audiences. As a bonus, they’ll even premiere the One Piece: Mugiwara Chase featurette/short film, also for the first time for US audiences. This featurette/short film will show before the film, making it a nice opener for said film.
The screening of One Piece: Strong World will take place as a 2-night theatrical event on November 7, 2021 and November 9, 2021. The former date will show the English dub version, and the latter date will show the original Japanese audio with English subtitles version. You can watch this film in select US theaters from Fathom Events. And remember, this film is available as a limited screening only. If you want to watch it, you might want to get some of these tickets, because we have no idea when or if the home media version will come out.
One Piece: Strong World ~ Details
Some of you may be wondering just what One Piece: Strong World is all about. Well, it’s the 10th feature-length anime film made for the anime series. 10th out of 14th, to be precise. The film actually launched in Japan all the way back in 2009, and thus it has taken Toei 12 years to bring it to US audiences. Well, better late than never, I suppose. As for what the film itself is about? Well, the official synopsis from Toei Animation does give us a tantalizing hint at the plot:
“There’s gonna be a rumble in the jungle in “One Piece Film: Strong World” – an original One Piece movie written by creator Eiichiro Oda! When the Straw Hats catch wind of trouble in the peaceful waters of the East Blue, they quickly set a course for home! But before they reach their destination, fate leads them into the deadly path of Golden Lion Shiki. This gravity-defying madman needs a navigator, and he wants Nami! Shiki scatters the Straw Hats across the far corners of a floating island filled with ferocious, genetically-mutated monsters, and issues Nami and ultimatum: join his crew – or her friends die! BIG mistake. Luffy kicks his attack mode into Third Gear and begins a brutal rampage across the beast-ridden island. It’s all hands on deck – including a new character – for this watershed adventure in the One Piece canon. Monkey vs. Lion. Winner gets the navigator!”
