According to the latest list of Marvel rumors on r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers, Jim Carrey (The Mask/Truman Show) has possibly been cast as the Marvel Villain, Modok. This same rumor says that Carrey’s M.O.D.O.K. will be seen in multiple MCU Television Shows, including She-Hulk on Disney+.
Moderators of the forum are adamant that this “leaked” information came from a trusted individual, not a Marvel Employee. And that it is “as confirmed as you can get without seeing it on your television screen.” You can also find information about She-Hulk, Black Panther 2, and Moon Knight in this leaked information thread as well.
IS JIM CARREY THE RIGHT CASTING CHOICE FOR MODOK?
Carrey is widely known as one of the BEST Comedic Actors to span generations, as well as being a masterful dramatic actor. His acting range goes from slapstick comedy like Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, to heartwrenching I love you, Philip Morris, and even kids films like the 2020’s Sonic the Hedgehog. On top of that, Carrey is no stranger to being a villain in a comic book movie. At the height of his career in the 90s, Carrey took on the role of The Riddler in the 1995 film, Batman Forever.
M.O.D.O.K. would be an interesting character for Carrey to take on next. M.O.D.O.K. is a genius scientist who exists only as an oversized head with undersized limbs. He’s always reminds me of Krang from TMNT. So, making him funny is a no-brainer. I mean…look at him.
WHERE CAN YOU FIND M.O.D.O.K. NOW?
Currently, fans can see M.O.D.O.K. in Hulu’s original series, M.O.D.O.K. voiced by Patton Oswald. While the Hulu series is getting a season 2, Carrey’s casting suggests the MCU will continue to take the character in their own direction and give him a huge storyline. Otherwise, why would they cast such a huge name?
