National Treasure Series: Details

Now not with Nicholas Cage.

As you might expect from the title, the National Treasure series is going to be a spinoff of the original films starring Nicholas Cage. Marianne and Cormac Wibberly will return to co-write the series, but the series itself will feature a new director named Mira Nair (Salaam Bombay!, Monsoon Wedding). Jerry Bruckheimer and Jon Turteltaub will remain onboard as executive producers for this 10-episode series.

According to Deadline, production for this National Treasure series will start sometime in early 2022. That means that it will still be a pretty long while after that before we finally get to see it on Disney+. We’ll have to wait for more new from Disney on that front later.

Conclusion

The upcoming National Treasure Disney+ series just snagged Lisette Alexis to play the lead role of Jess Morales. She’s a pretty new and unknown actress at the moment, but that may change with this news. At least, once we get to see this series on Disney+. The early 2022 production date start means that won’t be for a long, long while though. At the very least though, we might get to see it before the third film in the original series. You know, the one starring Nicholas Cage.
