From Outlast to Resident Evil, it’s no doubt there’s a big market for survival horror games. In the case of Resident Evil, sometimes those games even become movies. Now we’re getting the opposite: a modern classic horror flick will get a video game adaptation.
Saber Interactive, iLLOGIKA, and EP1T0ME joined together with Paramount Pictures to present A Quiet Place the game.
At this time, we don’t have many details about what the Quiet Place game will look like. The website for the game is pretty bare-bones. The description states, “A terrifying new video game. Experience an untold story of survival in the A Quiet Place universe.” So, yeah, not much to go off of there. “In the universe” does generally imply the game won’t feature characters from the film though. (Or at the very least, the game won’t specifically follow the movie’s plot.)
Saber Interactive released a statement about the game to IGN.
“This first official video game set in the terrifying A Quiet Place universe will deliver an original story and gameplay that captures the compelling suspense, emotion and drama for which the series is famous,” said the statement. “The game is in development by iLLOGIKA, the Montreal-based studio with veteran talent from the Rainbow Six and Far Cry franchises, and published by Saber Interactive, the Embracer Group company behind the hit game World War Z and the upcoming Evil Dead: The Game.”
We loved the original A Quiet Place film, and its sequel proved the world could easily expand for more impactful scares. If nothing else, this game definitely has potential based on its IP.
The game’s website also says “Coming in 2022.” So at least fans won’t have to wait too long to experience A Quiet Place themselves—whatever that experience looks like.
