It seems like everyone from the Marvel Universe is getting a show or a movie. We have already had the Black Widow, Loki, and The Falcon & Winter Soldier tell their stories. Even Wanda Maximoff and Vision shared a series. Well now there looks to be another fan-favorite series heading our way… Howard the Duck!
Howard the Duck Animated Series
You read that right, according to a report from Cbr.com, it seems that Howard the Duck. who debuted in 1973 will be getting his own animated series. Now before I go any further, I always like to say, none of this has been confirmed by Marvel or Disney so until then you need to look at all of this as a rumor. So, now that I got that out, here is what Cbr.com had to say.
“According to an anonymous 4Chan user, Disney is in the early stages of development on a cartoon show starring Howard. It will be one of the first projects by the recently launched Marvel Studios Animation and will star see Seth Green reprise his role as the title character. Additionally, Disney is set to officially reveal the show at their Disney+ Day event on Nov. 12 and it is due to release in 2024. This should all be taken with a grain of salt, since the source makes the validity of the claim questionable.”
The History Of Howard the Duck
Created by writer Steve Gerber and artist Val Mayerik Howard the Duck first appeared in Adventure into Fear #19 published by Marvel Comics. After appearing in the comics Howard the Duck would get his own movie adaptation of the comic in 1986. After a long break from films, Howard would make appearances in Animated Guardians of the Galaxy series (2015-19), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers Endgame (2019), and more recently the Disney+ series What If…?.
