It seems the Holmes family drama didn’t end in the first Enola Holmes film. Helena Bonham Carter is officially set to appear in the Netflix sequel.

Bonham Carter plays Eudoria, the Holmes family matriarch. Enola Holmes follows the rebellious teen sister of famous sleuth Sherlock. A major part of the first film included Enola’s search for her missing mother.

While Enola (spoilers) ultimately found her mother in the first film, the pair’s reunion proved complex. Now, with the inclusion of Bonham Carter, it seems the sequel feature will continue to touch on that familial drama.

Enola Holmes 2 will see Millie Bobby Brown return as the lead heroine. Henry Cavill also returns as older brother Sherlock. During recent fan event TUDUM, Netflix also revealed Louis Partridge would reprise his role as Tewksbury. Award-winning director Harry Bradbeer and writer Jack Thorne will also return for the sequel.

The original Enola Holmes released on Netflix in 2020 and proved a massive hit for the streamer. Apparently, 77 million households streamed the movie within the first 28 days of its release.

The sequel, produced by Legendary, will begin principal photography in London.
