We thought Wes Craven’s New Nightmare was meta. Now, Deborah Voorhees is taking it upon herself to inject some life back into the Friday the 13th mythos with her new film 13 Fanboy. She played Tina in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning; now she’s directing a film about a fan gone mad. The film, which debuts in theaters, drive-ins, and on VOD this October 22nd, 2021, has this as it’s logline:
A deranged Friday the 13th fan stalks the women from the famous franchise.
Here’s the brand new trailer for the film.
It stars Dee Wallace, Kane Hodder, Adrienne King, Corey Feldman, Hayley Greenbauer, Lar Park Lincoln, Jennifer Banko, Andrew Leighty, Judie Aronson, Ron Sloan, C.J. Graham, Tracie Savage, Vincente DiSanti, and Carol Locatell.
The official synopsis looks like this:
An obsessed fanboy stalks his favorite actors from the Friday the 13th films and beyond. As a child, Kelsie Voorhees witnesses the murder of her grandmother, Friday the 13th actress Deborah Voorhees, at the hands of a crazed fanboy. As an adult, she discovers her grandmother isn’t the only victim and the killer is still out there searching for his favorite Friday the 13th cast members and iconic scream queens to slaughter, mirroring his idol Jason Voorhees, as he still can’t seem to separate the characters in the movies from their real-life personas.
If you’re in the mood for some classic slasher goodness with ONLY practical effects, 13 Fanboy might be for you.
