Netflix has dropped the official trailer for their new limited series Maid. And boy, does it look like its going to be one heck of a tearjerker. The series is created by Molly Smith Metzler (Shameless, Orange is the New Black) and executive-produced by John Wells (August: Osage County, Shameless) and none other than Margot Robbie. It stars Margaret Qualley, Nick Robinson, Anika Noni Rose, Tracy Vilar, Billy Burke and Andie MacDowell. The series is:
Inspired by the New York Times best-selling memoir, Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive by Stephanie Land, MAID follows the story of Alex, a single mother who turns to housecleaning to — barely — make ends meet as she escapes an abusive relationship and overcomes homelessness to create a better life for her daughter, Maddy. Seen through the emotional yet humorous lens of a desperate, but determined woman… This series is a raw and inspiring exploration of a mother’s resilience.
The limited series will consist of ten episodes and will be streaming exclusively on Netflix October 1, 2021.
CHECK OUT THE OFFICIAL TRAILER NOW:
This new limited series looks to be a hard-hitting emotional journey. I am not familiar with the source material. but this trailer has definitely sold me. The cast is fantastic, with Margaret Qualley looking to steal ever scene she is in with a career-defining performance. And I am a huge fan of John Wells; who gave us one of my favorite series of all-time with Shameless. Hopefully, the show will be just as powerful as this official trailer.
Are you excited for Maid? Have you read the source material that it is based off of?
Maid will be streaming exclusively on Netflix on October 1st, 2021.
