It’s official – we’re headed back down river with another installment of Jungle Cruise!
Disney’s recently released live-action adventure feature will get a sequel film. Even better, both Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are set to return, reprising their roles as skipper Frank Wolff and researcher Dr. Lily Houghton.
Much of the creative team behind the first Jungle Cruise will also work on the sequel, including executive producer Scott Sheldon and director Jaume Collet-Serra.
The movie, loosely based on the Disney Parks attraction of the same name, has performed well with both audiences and critics alike. In fact, when we first saw it, we spotted the franchise potential right away. (You can read more about it in our full Jungle Cruise review here.)
Combine that positive reception with the fact that the feature’s grossed over $180 million worldwide already, and it looks like a good call for Disney to shoot for movie #2.
So, have you watched Johnson and Blunt in Jungle Cruise? What do you want to see in the sequel? Let us know in the comments below.
