Black Panther actor Letitia Wright was recently hospitalized due to an on-set injury.
The actor reportedly suffered minor injuries due to an incident with a stunt rig. The accident occurred in Boston while filming Marvel’s Black Panther sequel, Wakanda Forever.
“Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon,” said a spokesperson for Marvel.
Wright plays Shuri in the films, T’Challa’s tech-savvy younger sister and princess of Wakanda.
Though primary filming for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever occurs in Atlanta, Wright sustained her injuries on set in Boston. She has been shooting scenes on location at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for the film. Dominique Thorne, who’s set to play Ironheart/Riri Williams, was also spotted on set in Boston.
Despite her hospitalization, Wright’s injuries are said to be minor, and she is expected to be released soon. The studio confirmed her hospitalization would not impact the film’s shooting schedule.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever releases in July 2022.
