Good news: the latest season of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime, covering the STONE OCEAN arc, will premiere soon. Bad news: you need a Netflix account to see it. But hey, at least they have a new trailer for us today:

Not seeing the “ocean” part in this prison. Yet.

Netflix officially announces that they have acquired exclusive rights to stream JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure STONE OCEAN. As mentioned before, this will be the latest season of this legendary shonen anime. It will cover the 6th arc of the manga, basically beginning the long road to the final clash between the Joestar family and DIO..

Netflix will stream the premiere of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure STONE OCEAN globally later this year in December 2021. We don’t have an exact date for you. This is the closest we have. If you want to see the beginning of the end, check out this anime then. Oh, and if you don’t already have a Netflix account, then prepare to open up your wallets. You need to shell out some cash to watch anything on Netflix.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure STONE OCEAN: Details

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure STONE OCEAN key art.
Huh, a female protagonist for this usually hyper-masculine anime? This could be interesting.

As you can see from both the trailer and the key art above, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure STONE OCEAN stars a female protagonist for once. Specifically: Jolyne Cujoh. She’s the daughter of Jotaro Kujo: the protagonist of the anime previously. While she has no love for her estranged father, she’ll need all the help she can get after she is sent to prison following a false conviction. The synopsis from Netflix has more:

Florida, U.S.A, 2011 — After an accident while on a drive with her sweetheart, Jolyne Cujoh falls into a trap and is sentenced to fifteen years at the state-run maximum-security correctional facility Green Dolphin Street Prison—AKA “the Aquarium.” On the verge of despair, she receives a pendant from her father that causes a mysterious power to awaken inside of her. “There are things in this world that are more terrifying than death, and what’s happening in this prison is definitely one of them.” A message from a mysterious boy who appears before Jolyne, inexplicable events that occur one after another, the horrifying truth told to her by her father when he comes to visit, and the name DIO… Will Jolyne ultimately be set free from this stone ocean they call a prison? The final battle to end the century-long, fateful confrontations between the Joestar family and DIO begins!

Conclusion
