Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War and Warzone are in for an influx of brand new content with the start of season five. We already had an explosive and game-changing Season Four, especially in Warzone. This time around, the stakes are higher and the content gets better.

Starting off, we have the brand new limited time mode: Double Agent. Check out the trailer for that mode below.

According to the Call of Duty Blog, here’s what you can expect:

The new Double Agent mode infiltrates into Season Five, an investigative Multiplayer party experience where each match assigns Double Agents who are there to sabotage the mission. Communicate, investigate, and expose the traitors – or successfully wipe out the investigating team – to win.

It starts with up to ten players in a lobby who are assigned one of three roles:

Double Agents, who must either eliminate everyone else or successfully set off explosive charges around the map.

The Investigator, who can use clues to target suspected Double Agents as Wanted criminals.

Operatives, who must work together to identify and eliminate the Double Agents before it’s too late.

Looks like we’re getting a Call of Duty variant on the classic game of Werewolf. Someone’s out there to mess up the mission, but who?

Demolition Makes A Grand Return

Later in Season Five, the classic game mode, Demolition comes back. Here’s the description of the mode for those who haven’t played it:

Two teams battle it out as attackers attempt to destroy a pair of active bombsites, while defenders must prevent the detonations. All-out chaos ensues when time is extended after the first bomb site is destroyed, and you’d better be prepared with plenty of Scorestreaks and squadmates for backup should one final bomb be planted at the last second.

FIVE Multiplayer Maps Coming To Black Ops: Cold War

Let’s face it, Season Four was a little short on actual Multiplayer content. This time around, they’re bumping up those rookie numbers with five new MP maps. We’re getting “Echelon, Slums“, “Showroom“, “Drive-In“, and “Zoo“. With “Showroom” being a Gunfight map. “Echelon“, “Slums“, and “Showroom” are coming at launch with “Drive-In” and “Zoo” coming later in-season.

We Finally Have A Flamethrower

It was teased in concept and other art in the game, but we finally have access to the Flamethrower as a Scorestreak. You’ll be able to toast people at launch of Season Five. This one should be some fun to use…

Zombies Content: New Outbreak Zone, Field Upgrade & More

Outbreak is a revelation when it comes to the Zombies mode in Black Ops: Cold War. With Season Five, we get a new region: Collateral. It’s based on the new Fireteam/MP map from last season, but with more zombies than you can think of. That map was a great addition to both those game modes, so putting it in Outbreak only makes sense.

Call of Duty: Warzone Content Coming In Hot

New Perks: Combat Scout and Tempered

Raven Software teased this addition with the last patch notes update, now we know what they are. Here are the official descriptions:

The first is Combat Scout; with this Perk, Operators receive a burst of in-field intel, as damaging an enemy briefly highlights the foe in bright orange and automatically pings them. Whether it’s confirming a callout or finding someone cooped up in a building behind penetrable cover, this Perk only grows stronger if the Operator behind it can communicate effectively to their squadmates.

The other is Tempered, which looks to fundamentally change Armor values within Warzone. When an Operator is under the effects of Tempered, their Armor Plates are heavier and more reinforced – only two of them are needed for an Operator to be considered “fully armored” compared to the standard three. In other words, Tempered allows each Armor Plate to absorb 75 points of damage instead of the standard 50, but an Operator will only be able to wear two at a time instead of three. This unique change also comes at the sacrifice of your Perk 2 slot, so choose your perk setup wisely before bulking up with those reinforced plates.

New Points Of Interest: Mobile Broadcast Station and [[REDACTED]]

Well if Stitch is going to take over the world, he needs some places to broadcast from. That’s where you come in, Operator. These mobile stations show up all over Verdansk and hold rewards, you just need to listen for them.

Here’s the official release on [[REDACTED]]:

NATO is aware of these recent Perseus efforts and has decided to [[REDACTED]]. Operators should look for [[REDACTED]] when it arrives on [[REDACTED]] within Verdansk, as a highly important [[REDACTED]].

A New Gulag: Rush

Want to live out those Paintball pro dreams but you’re stuck in the Gulag? Well, thanks to Raven Software, you can do both. The Gulag for Season Five is based on the classic Black Ops 2 multiplayer map: Rush.

Four New Weapons Coming To The Game

We’ve got four new weapons coming to the game in Season Five. The EM2 (Assault Rifle), TEC-9 (SMG), Cane (Melee Weapon, BOO YOU SUCK, WHY DO YOU KEEP PUTTING MELEE WEAPONS IN THE GAME), and the Marshal (Secondary Shotgun) which comes in-season as opposed to the other three at launch.

Because when I play Call of Duty, I know all I want to do is hit people with a Cane…

There’s plenty more coming in Season Five, you can check the notes from the Call of Duty Blog right here!
