Netflix has dropped an official trailer an character posters for their new limited series Brand New Cherry Flavor. This supernatural noir from Nick Antosca (Channel Zero, the upcoming Guillermo Del Toro-produced Antlers) is a very exciting new property for the streaming giant. It stars Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel), Catherine Keener, Eric Lange, Jeff Ward and Manny Jacinto (The Good Place). Here is the logline for the show:

“Lisa Nova (Rosa Salazar) comes to LA dead set on directing her first movie. But when she trusts the wrong person and gets stabbed in the back, everything goes sideways and a dream project turns into a nightmare. This particular nightmare has zombies, hit men, supernatural kittens, and a mysterious tattoo artist who likes to put curses on people. And Lisa’s going to have to figure out some secrets from her own past in order to get out alive.“

All 8 episodes of Brand New Cherry Flavor will be streaming on Netflix Friday, August 13th.

Nick Antosca’s Channel Zero is one of the most underrated series of the past decade. So, I am so excited to see him being offered another platform to tell his unique and terrifying stories. Brand New Cherry Flavor looks to be a wonderful blend of supernatural horror, quirky dark humor and pulpy noir. It is also wonderful to see Rosa Salazar get another meaty leading role, after she blew audiences away in Alita: Battle Angel. This new limited series cannot come soon enough, if you ask me!
