Amazon’s much anticipated adaptation of Wheel of Time dropped some big news today during SDCC at Home.
For the first time, fans have an official release date for the fantasy series. Ok, technically it’s just a release month, but that’s more info than we had before. During Amazon’s panel, showrunner Rafe Judkins confirmed Wheel of Time will premiere in November 2021.
The series is based on Robert Jordan’s best-selling fantasy novels. With over 90 million copies sold, it’s one of the most popular and enduring fantasy stories of all time. Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.
The SDCC panel also revealed the first official poster for the series. Check it out below:
Just days ago, Amazon revealed season 2 of the series had already entered production.
