Earlier this week we had a story about Warner Bros and DC testing actresses for Barbara Gordon/Batgirl. Now we have news on who won the role. According to Deadline, In The Heights actress Leslie Grace is their choice for the role. Their sources say that the studio was already high on the actress and her audition sealed the deal.
The upcoming solo DC film debuts exclusively on HBO Max. WB and HBO Max have a new content plan going forward with smaller DC films making their way to HBO Max. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are directing a script from Christina Hodson.
The plot details for Batgirl are scarce, but it’ll likely follow the adventures of Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Commissioner Gordon. It’s unknown as to what “universe” this version of the character fits into. DC and WB are moving forward with a multi-verse of sorts with their films. Movies like The Batman and The Flash occupy different universes, so you can have different versions of the characters like Batman.
We’ll keep you updated as this story develops.
