FX has dropped the final trailer for the spin-off series American Horror Stories. It promises the same pulpy, twisted scares that we have come to expect from Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. The logline for the series is:
Since 2011, the creators of the AHS have redefined the horror genre with various installments featuring a creepy asylum, a coven of witches, a traveling freak show, a haunted hotel and the apocalypse itself. The television series sprouted a legion of dedicated fans who anticipate what terrors the next chapter will hold. Now with American Horror Stories we have a weekly anthology series that will feature a different horror story each episode.
The series is executive produced by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Alexis Martin Woodall, John J. Gray and Manny Coto. The franchise is produced by 20th Television.

As a huge fan of this series, I’m looking forward to American Horror Stories, just to tide me over until the next season of the flagship returns. As with all anthologies, some episodes will be better than others. But, this trailer is definitely intriguing; to see what kind of horrors Falchuk and Murphy can bring us. The series has always been a hit-or-miss situation. So, at least with each episode being a different story, we don’t have to endure a whole season of mediocrity to get back to the “good stuff”. I think this is going to be a lot of fun!
American Horror Stories premieres exclusively on FX on Hulu with two back-to-back episodes on Thursday, July 15th.
