What’s a little friendly rivalry between co-stars?
We’re officially one month away from the arrival of Jungle Cruise, so stars Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson have appeared with new content for us all. Both Skipper Frank (Johnson) and Dr. Lily Houghton (Blunt) have their own featured trailers, which you can watch below.
Here’s Johnson’s trailer, which includes an intro about heading back to the movies post-pandemic and the convenient butchering of his co-star’s name:
Of course, to counter this Frank-centric trailer, Blunt has debuted one of her own. (The actual, real trailer focused on Dr. Houghton, naturally.) Check it out below:
Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, Disney’s Jungle Cruise is an adventure-filled, rollicking thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton. Lily travels from London, England to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank’s questionable services to guide her downriver on La Quila—his ramshackle-but-charming boat. She’s determined to uncover an ancient tree with unparalleled healing abilities—possessing the power to change the future of medicine. Thrust on this epic quest together, the unlikely duo encounters innumerable dangers and supernatural forces, all lurking in the deceptive beauty of the lush rainforest. But as the secrets of the lost tree unfold, the stakes reach even higher for Lily and Frank and their fate—and mankind’s—hangs in the balance.
In addition to Blunt and Johnson, the film stars Edgar Ramírez and Jack Whitehall, with Jesse Plemons and Paul Giamatti.
Disney also unveiled new character posters today:
