Looks like Disneyland employees are getting some good news today in the health department. Specifically, in regards to COVID-19.

A thing of the past…hopefully.

Blog Mickey announced yesterday on June 25, 2021, that starting today on June 26, fully vaccinated Disneyland Resort cast members working outdoors will not have to wear face masks. They may still choose to wear face masks. However, they will no longer be required to do so. Which is a good thing, really. The heatwave in California is picking up with the coming of summer. Considering that Disneyland Resort is located smack dab in Anaheim, California; this is definitely a good thing for those cast members.

Disneyland: Back to Business as Usual for Summer

Reopening day at Disneyland.
And the crowd goes wild!

So why this sudden relaxation of COVID-19 safety measures for Disneyland Resort? Well, Walt Disney World did more or less the same thing last week, so this shouldn’t be surprising. Not to mention, there’s also the recent fact that California Governor Gavin Newsom issued an executive order saying that all fully vaccinated employees in California no longer have to wear face masks at work.

I guess that’s a victory against one nasty virus.

The catch with this executive order though is that individual businesses can still have stricter rules than that. The keywords here are “can still have” though. Disneyland appears to not be one of them. In fact, they look to be jumping on board with this executive order at full speed. They really want to look like everything is back to normal by summer, hence the expedited safety rules. Let’s hope this turns out to be a good thing.

Conclusion

Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California is no longer requiring cast members working outdoors to wear face masks. This comes into effect on June 26, 2021; which should mean that now, you’ll see them doing just that today. Hopefully, this means fewer people passing out in the building heatwave at the most magical place on Earth this summer. People working outdoors anywhere, not just at Disney, don’t have access to air conditioning, after all.
