Nicolas Cage is on a roll lately. He starred in the excellent Willy’s Wonderland earlier this year and also History of Swear Words for Netflix. Now he’s coming back with a film about a truffle pig. NEON is releasing Michael Sarnoski‘s film Pig later this summer, July 16th. Here’s the synopsis.

A truffle hunter who lives alone in the Oregonian wilderness must return to his past in Portland in search of his beloved foraging pig after she is kidnapped.

It’s written by Vanessa Block and Michael Sarnoski. It also stars Alex Wolff (Hereditary, Old).

If you’re expecting John Wick, but with a pig, you’ll be sorely disappointed. This looks like more of a thriller with character work and emotions. We’ll have to see if we get any Cage Rage in this movie, but for now, this could be another great Cage performance about a man who’s lost everything.

We’ll have to see what we get when the film releases this July.
