You know you love it… Gossip Girl is coming back!
The upcoming HBO Max series heads our way July 8. But we already have a trailer to get a taste of the updated series:
Gossip Girl is based on the bestselling novels by Cecily von Ziegesar. The original TV series adaptation ran from 2007-2012 on the CW. This extension of the pop culture classic sees a new generation of New York private school teens go up against social surveillance – nine years after the original blogger’s website went dark. The new series will explore how much social media has changed in the intervening years.
Joshua Safran, a writer and executive producer on the original series, will serve as showrunner for HBO Max’s Gossip Girl. The series stars Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak, and Savannah Lee Smith. Plus, Kristen Bell reprises her role as the voice dishing out all the dirty secrets.
Gossip Girl is produced by Fake Empire and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios. Original series showrunners Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage serve as executive producers. Original costume designer Eric Daman also joins the series. Karena Evans directs two episodes.
Gossip Girl premieres on HBO Max July 8th.
