Lebron James and The Looney Tunes are back for another game in a new Space Jam: A New Legacy trailer! The film is directed by Malcom D. Lee. With a screenplay from Juel Taylor, Tony Rettenmaier, Keenan Coogler, Terence Nance, Jesse Gordon and Celeste Ballard. Here is what you can expect from the film:
LeBron and his young son Dom are trapped in a digital space by a rogue A.I. LeBron must get them home safe by leading Bugs, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over the A.I.’s digitized champions on the court: a powered-up roster of professional basketball stars as you’ve never seen them before. It’s Tunes versus Goons in the highest-stakes challenge of his life. That will redefine LeBron’s bond with his son and shine a light on the power of being yourself. The ready-for-action Tunes destroy convention, supercharge their unique talents and surprise even “King” James by playing the game their own way.
The new installment of the franchise stars Lebron James as himself, Sonequa Martin-Green as his wife Kamiyah, newcomer Cedric Joe as his son Dom, Don Cheadle as the villain AI-G Rhythm and Zendaya as Lola Bunny.
CHECK OUT THE NEW TRAILER FOR SPACE JAM
I can’t help, but get excited about this new Space Jam film! As a child of the nineties, this new installment is serving me all of the nostalgia I could ask for. I really appreciate how this new trailer has provided us with a better look at both the 2-D and CG animation in the film. It’s impressive to see what they have done with the traditional animation, keeping it in line with the original Looney Tunes cartoons. It is also really cool to see the whole gang given the CG treatment, though I must say that some of their character designs might give me nightmares. And we get to hear Zendaya as Lola Bunny!
Space Jam: A New Legacy will be In Theaters and Streaming on HBO Max Friday, July 16th.
