Sony confirmed earlier this afternoon that Aaron Taylor-Johnson will play the titular character in the upcoming Kraven the Hunter film. The movie, directed by J.C. Chandor, is set for release on January 13th, 2023. He famously portrayed Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron and was KickAss in Kick-Ass. The script for the film comes from Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk. It’s a solo film that also involves a multiple picture contract as the Spider-Man villain. Sony is branching out with their Spider-Man universe with films like Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage and Morbius.
The character of Kraven has been a hotly contested one with multiple actors vying for the role. He’s a hulking figure that gives Spider-Man his biggest tests in the comics. The character is an original member of the Sinister Six.
We’ll keep you updated on the project and any other news that comes out as this develops.
So, what do you think of this casting for Kraven the Hunter? Are you surprised? Did you want someone else for the role?
