Hellraiser is one of the best and longest running horror franchises out there. It turns out that Hulu agrees. They’ve acquired the upcoming remake from Spyglass Media. The film, which was announced last spring, comes from David Bruckner. Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski both wrote the screenplay. While we have some of the production team, we don’t have any other details about the project. Our friends at Bloody Disgusting had the news.
This comes off the heels that Clive Barker reacquired the rights to the original film and the novella, The Hellbound Heart. While this is going on, we also have a Hellraiser series coming from David Gordon Green on HBO Max. There is no news on whether Barker is involved with the movie reboot.
We don’t have a release date or any other information, but Hulu grabbing this one makes it more and more likely to release. We’ll keep you updated as this story develops.
