The Dungeons And Dragons film is adding more and more talent by the day. Deadline is reporting that My Spy and Avatar 2 star Chloe Coleman has joined the cast. She joins Chris Pine, Justice Smith, Michelle Rodriguez, Rege Jean-Page, Hugh Grant, and Sophia Lillis. Game Night‘s directing duo of John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will direct and have written the film’s script.
We also now know that the film is now set to release on March 3rd, 2023. When it come to plot details, however, the studio has those under lock and key. Dungeons and Dragons has seen a boom in popularity over the past ten years. For that, you can thank appearances in pop culture like Stranger Things and the people at Critical Role. And this new film could not only get new fans on board, but those who haven’t played the game might check it out.
Now with this, one of the big questions is: from which classes will the characters come? Hasbro and Paramount not saying anything yet might indicate that a reveal might be happening in the coming months… But I wouldn’t hold your breath. Neither Hasbro, nor Wizards Of The Coast, nor Paramount have revealed anything for the film yet. And with Dungeons and Dragons not releasing unti March 2023 now, we may not hear anything for a while about what they have planned for this film.
Dungeons and Dragons, but no details
Director Jonathan Goldstein, however, recently took to Twitter to announce the film in is production:
This is a good sign. With the film’s release date being switched, it almost seemed like the film would’ve gone into production 2022. Where will production take us? Comic Book has officially revealed that the film will take place in The Forgotten Realms. Now, we of course don’t know exactly where. Those details, as well as the logline for the film, are still being kept under wraps.
Meanwhile, Deadline has revealed that Shadow And Bone actress Daisy Head has joined the Dungeons and Dragons cast. Her character is being held under wraps, but adding her after the success of Shadow And Bone is perfect.
All in all, this film is already shaping up to be one of the best films of 2023.
