The recently released Art of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge book has a TON of concept artworks, sketches, blueprints, photographs, and more from the creative process behind Walt Disney Imagineering. One such concept became a reality: the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. The book provides a first look at some pretty cool-looking art of what you’ll see inside of the 2-day adventure hotel experience.
Concept Art reveals a striking Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
You find one hundred guests rooms onboard the Halcyon when it opens next year. That’s the name of the “ship,” according to a recent interview with Walt Disney Imagineer, Ann Morrow Johnson. He also revealed to starwars.com details about the hallways the guest rooms. The Star Wars: Galactic Cruiser takes inspiration from the Tantive IV. Of course, the new hotel then dressed things up with chromes and synthetics.
The Galactic Starcruiser hallway will be the length of the 3-story hotel, lead towards various types of guest rooms onboard the Halcyon. Imagineer Johnson did tease:
“It’s possible that we might take a detour or two if we find ourselves in unexpected circumstances. But you will be able to see those planets, other ships, maybe the occasional asteroid field, out the window as we cruise from place to place.”
The cabins are part of the whole immersive experience and well…”I have a bad feeling about this” as Solo once famously said.
Based off a recent permit filing as the Galactic Starcruiser is aiming for January 2022 opening but plans can change even though Disney has said for “2022”. Will you guys make your way over to Walt Disney World and escape to a galaxy far, far away for next year? Leave it down in the comments section below!
