Long-time Ghost Adventures star and haunting enthusiast Zak Bagans invites you to a night at the museum. His very own museum, that is.
The new Discovery+ series The Haunted Museum launches later this year. The horror anthology will take fans inside the real life Las Vegas establishment, Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum. The series will “present the frightening and hellish tales behind the spooky relics on display” there, told via scripted shorts with commentary from Bagans himself.
Bagans’ Haunted Museum features his extensive collection, housing thousands of items exhibited across the 30-room mansion. (In other words, plenty of spooky relics to keep this new series running a while, if fans get on board.)
The Haunted Museum includes a two-hour special episode, plus eight hour-long episodes. Filmmaker Eli Roth executive produces the series with Bagans.
“I’ve been a fan of Zak for many years and absolutely love his passion, drive and incredible research on all things paranormal,” said Roth. “He has amassed a collection unlike any in the world, and we are thrilled to tell the stories behind these truly terrifying objects. What I love most is that the objects are all real and that people can go and see them if they dare. The show will not be for the faint of heart.”
Bagans’ Las Vegas museum opened in 2017. The Haunted Museum will dive into the vaults of his collection, sharing the stories behind items like the Dybbuk Box; a carved wooden statue owned by actor Steve McQueen; the Westerfeld dollhouse; actor Bela Lugosi’s mirror; the Devil’s Rocking Chair and more. Bagans’ testimony will be complemented by mini-horror movies by Roth exploring the objects’ haunted history.
“Eli Roth is a master of horror, and I couldn’t think of a more talented visionary to help bring the stories of my haunted collection to life,” said Bagans. “These are no ordinary objects, they impart fear and terror on those who come into contact with them. Now, with Eli’s expertise for thrill-provoking storytelling, viewers will get the ultimate frightening glimpse into their real horror.”
The series should arrive on Discovery+ later this year.
