The film that launched John Boyega‘s career is getting a sequel. Attack the Block 2 is coming from Boyega and writer/director Joe Cornish. Boyega is locked in to reprise his role of Moses in the sequel, set 10 years after the first one. That first film was a revelation upon release and launched his career. Here’s what Boyega had to say about the film:

It’s been a decade since Attack the Block was released and so much has changed since then. I’m excited to see this heightened story return to the streets of London. Moses has remained one of my favorite characters to play and bringing him back is a huge honor.

The details on the film are scarce, but with the original team from the film coming back, you can expect the same quality film. Deadline had the news for this one.

Original director Sam Cornish had this to say about returning:

I’m thrilled we’re officially announcing our return to the world of Attack the Block on the tenth anniversary of the film’s release. I can’t wait to work alongside John again, bringing audiences an even bigger slice of inner-city alien action.
